The first thing a rider needs to get started is the proper equipment. Water skiers need water skis, a personal flotation device, water ski boat and a secure nylon rope and handle. No one should attempt to water ski without a life jacket. Once a person gets their water skis on and hits the water, it is time to let the boat do the work.
